Swindle

They were told this house was haunted by all of the spirits of the dead Rockfords that lived there. As Griffin explored the house he found a 1920 Babe Ruth baseball card in a cloths dresser. He took the card and sold it to a man named Palomino S. Wendell for $120.

The problem was when Ben and Griffin found out that Palomino had given them $120 for a 1 million dollar card. When they went to Palomino's Emporium (Palomino's shop) they told him that they were going to get their revenge for what he had done. Unfortunately, the safe that the card was put into was bolted to the ground. As they tried to break into the store there was no Doberman (dog) guarding the shop. When they broke in the safe wasn't there.

The problem was resolved when Griffin had found out that Palomino had hid the safe in his home. Ben had sent little notes asking 4 students to help them break into Palomino's house. A student that they had not asked was listening to their conservation and asked to be part of the crew. They finally broke into the house and stole the card from the house.

My opinion of this book was that it was one of the best books I've read. I recommend this book to anyone that likes action books/stories.

From Pearl Harbor to Okiniwa

This book is about World War II and how it started. The whole war started when a Japanese submarine was in a prohibited area where no one was allowed in if they didn't have permission. The United States Marines were ordered to bomb it, and they did what they were ordered to do. The next day Japanese air force unexpectedly attacked one of the main bases at Pearl Harbor.

I learned from reading this book was how the Japanese forces were winning the war at the start. I thought the United States used their technology against the Japanese and held them back. This is a very interesting and important fact about history that this book taught me because it helped me from passing on wrong information to young children.

My opinion of this book is that it was a good book to inform you about the history of the world. I recommend this book to people that are interested in the topic of history. That is my opinion and my recommendation of the book From Pearl Harbor to Okinawa. I hope you enjoy it!

Falling Up

The book that I read is called Falling Up. In one way, all of the poems in this book are alike because they all are funny. Another way is how some of them don't make sense.

My favorite poem in this book is called “Advice.” The reason I like this poem is because it's funny, and spoke of someone's death. Here is how the poem goes “William Tell, William Tell, Take your arrow, grip it well, There's the apple-aim for the middle-Oh well… you just missed by a little.” Andthat is what my favorite poem, and how it goes.

My second favorite poem is called “Writer Waiting.” I like this poem because it is about nerds and usually stuff about nerds is funny. And here is what it says: “Oh shiny new computer there isn't nothing cuter. It knows everything the world ever knew. And with this great computer I don't need a writing tutor, "Cause there ain"t a single thing that it could do. It can sort and it can spell, It can punctuate as well. It can find and file and underline and type. It can edit and select, It can copy and correct, So I'll have a whole book written by tonight (Just as soon as it can think of what to write).”

Here is my opinion of this poetry book and whom I recommend it to. I think this was a very funny and entertaining book. I recommend this book to those who are interested in funny books.
