Alex Rider is a secret agent that works for M16, a spy agency located in England. The only catch is... he's 14. In his life, he has had many near-death experiences, all of which he was trying to live his life normally, but ended up getting M16 to persuade him to do some deed while he was “in the vicinity”. An example of his adventures is him trying to snowboard down a mountain on an ironing board, with armed snowmobiles chasing him.

In “Ark Angel”, an eco-active terrorist group called “Force Three” has committed many murders, with number escalating. They will kill anyone who they believe is “harming the world” in any way. Also, if anyone writes about them or says something negative about them, the author or spokesperson is immediately murdered. For example, a journalist in Moscow writes an article about them, saying how they are a “violent group of terrorists, who seem to have no real goal”. Within 2 days, that author was shot while walking to her car from work. Alan Blunt and Mrs. Jones are M16 coordinators who work with Alex a lot. They attend a meeting that has a man explain what they know about Force Three, but do not learn much.

Meanwhile, Alex Rider is in a high-class, privet, usually celebrity only hospital. He is there because of an unsuccessful sniping attempt. In the room next to him, there is a boy named Paul Drevin. His father (Nikolei Vladimir Drevin) is a multi-billionaire, made rich by the oil business. Mrs. Jones tells him that he can leave the next day, so Alex is very happy.

The purpose of a newsletter is to provide specialized information to a targeted audience. Newsletters can be a great way to market your product or service, and also create credibility and build your organization's identity among peers, members, employees, or vendors.

First, determine the audience of the newsletter. This could be anyone who might benefit from the information it contains, for example, employees or people interested in purchasing a product or requesting your service.

You can compile a mailing list from business reply cards, customer information sheets, Business cards collected at trade shows, or membership lists. You might consider purchasing a mailing list from a company.

If you explore the Project Gallery, you will find many publications that match the style of your newsletter.

Next, establish how much time and money you can spend on your newsletter. These factors will help determine how frequently you publish the newsletter and its length. It's recommended that you publish your newsletter at least quarterly so that it's considered a consistent source of information. Your customers or employees will look forward to its arrival.

Alex rider is a normal fourteen-year-old kid; he goes to school, does homework, hangs out with his friends, and... He is a secret agent for M16, the secret service for England. He may not want to do all of the assignments that he is assigned, but he ends up doing them anyway. In Ark Angel, he has to stop an insane billionaire from blowing up the white house, so he can own the world.

Some of his adventures in this book were being in a direct line of fire, with the billionaire's guards on one side, and the FBI on the other; flying up in a rocket, getting onto a massive satellite and putting a bomb in the middle of it, all while fighting off a crazed man with a knife. Alex is a very versatile person, who can think quickly and adapt to his surroundings very fast. These traits come in handy when he is fighting the insane bad guys, or when he has to tight-walk across buildings, for example. Some of the coolest things that Alex gets to do are use the “gadgets” that a man called Smithers gives him.

Some examples of these items are “insect repellent” that actually will attract all of the bugs within 5 square miles, an iPod that will listen to conversations through walls, and some “ear studs”, that, when activated, will blow through a thick lock.

Alex has a very high-paced life, and will not back down from a challenge. To me, it would be kind of cool to have his life, but without the constant dangers of being a secret agent.

However, he cannot sleep that night, so he takes a walk around the hospital, eventually ending up in the reception room. He sees four members of Force Three walk in and demand to see Paul Drevin. The receptionist (who was a good friend of Alex's) tells them it is too late to see him, but they insist rather hostilely. The receptionist finally tells them, but is shot all the while. Alex sees all of this. Alex thinks up an elaborate plan to take out the terrorists (who he has named Combat Jacket, Spectacles, Steel Watch, and Silver Tooth), and follows them. He succeeds in knocking all of them out; Silver Tooth with a defibrillator, Spectacles with an oxygen cylinder, Combat Jacket with a medicine ball, and finally tricking Steel Watch into being magnetized toward an MRI machine.

But before Alex can call the police, a fifth man, the driver, knocks out Alex. When Alex comes to, he is being held hostage by Force Three, who still think he is Paul. There he meets their leader, Kasper, whose shaved head is tattooed like a globe. He explains that Nikolei Drevin is an enemy of Force Three, and that he is one of their next targets. He also tells him that Drevin is funding the construction of the world's first space hotel, Ark Angel. However, when he was making the rocket launches and other scientific experiments, he made four bird species extinct.

Because of Force Three's hate of people who destroy or hurt the world, they are very angry. Kasper tells Alex (remember, they still think he is Paul) that they are going to cut off his finger and send it to Nikolei to collect a very large ransom, which they can use in aid of their terrorist needs. Just as he is about to shop it off, Alex convinces Kasper he is not Paul. However, Kaspar decides to kill Alex anyway, leaving him to die after setting fire to the apartment Alex is held hostage in. Alex Escapes by tight-rope-walking to the adjacent building.

After escaping, he tells M16 all about his adventure. Soon after, he is released from the hospital. Once he gets home, Drevin calls Alex to thank him for saving his son from losing a finger, and whatever else could have happened to him. He then invites Alex to come to his house, where he will thank him personally, and express his gratitude. He also mentions that he will take Alex to his privet tropical island off of South America to watch a launching of a rocket that will help construct Ark Angel. Alex is a little skeptical, but he accepts.

While there, he hangs out with Paul and learns more about him. To Alex, it looks like his father definitely does not give him the attention and time that kids need, so Paul is always feeling lonely and left out (he is an only child). Also, because of the security measures that Nikolei must take, Paul must be tutored and does not meet many other kids his age. He also has asthma. While staying at the massive Drevin house, Alex is challenged to a very high-speed go-kart race. He competes with Nikolei, but is almost killed due to the man's unwillingness to lose.

A day later, they go to a soccer game between Stratford East (the team that Drevin recently bought) and Chelsea, Alex's favorite team. Because of a blown penalty kick by a Stratford East player, Chelsea wins it, 2-1.

In this book, it is kind of hard to distinguish multiple suspects, due to the fact that everybody who has committed a crime, or might want to hurt Alex is hired by one man, Nikolei Drevon. Drevon is a multibillionaire made rich by oil, along with other businesses. However, we have attempted to find out as much as possible about him, his motives, and his crimes.

Drevon is considered one of the richest men in the world; therefore, he almost always gets what he wants. You could say he is extremely spoiled. For example, when Alex has a go kart race with him, Drevon gets very, very competitive, and tries to seriously injure or kill Alex just to win the race. So, as you can see, he doesn't like being denied. Some reasons that he might want to commit the crime that was supposed to happen in the book (which was to crash a satellite into the pentagon) was to cover up all of the investigations on how Drevon got so rich...

The significance of this event in this book is that at the end of the game, Alex sees a Force Three member in crowd. He decides to follow him, and witnesses a murder of the famed Chelsea player that blew the PK. Before he can do anything, Alex is taken hostage by Steel Watch. He escapes cleverly by offending a Stratford fan, which missed Alex with a punch and hits Steel Watch instead. This is just the break that Alex needs, and he escapes. However, Force Three claims responsibility for another murder.

After the game, Alex goes with Drevin to his privet island to witness the rocket launch. They have to take a pit stop in America for business matters for a day. When they arrive, Alex finds that his passport has “expired”, and he is taken to a CIA building to be informed of the mission he must do in order to get Drevin arrested for the crimes that the CIA had been uncovering for the past couple of moths. Some of these crimes include; dealings with the mafia, many murders, and many other deadly and vicious crimes that got him to where he is today. He is also told that there is already an agent inside Drevin's organization, but they won't tell him who. M16's concealed weapon and gadget expert, Smithers, gives Alex an iPod which doubles as a radio, an inhaler doubling as a grenade and mosquito repellent which actually attracts mosquitoes and most other insects. After much persuasion, Alex reluctantly agrees to go back with Drevin.

Once on the island, he meets Drevin's head of security, Magnus Payne, who seems vaguely familiar. However, Alex's cover is quickly blown when Magnus tells Drevin Alex is an MI6 agent. Drevin tells Magnus to kill Alex. The next day, Drevin gets Alex to go scuba diving in an ancient wreck. The guard (Kolo) brings him down, but locks Alex in the ship and leaves him to die. Alex comes very close, but Tamara Knight, who had pretended to be Drevin's traveling secretary, shows up with Alex's fake inhaler. Alex uses it to explode through the lock, and barely escapes with his life. Tamara then tells him that she is the agent that the CIA debriefer told him about.

Later that day, Alex uses the mosquito attractor to distract the guards, and he and Tamara try to alert the debriefer's backup team, which was on guard on a neighboring island. Unfortunately, Tamara sets off an alarm and just as Alex sees Force Three being greeted by Magnus, the pair are caught by Drevin. Tamara is shot in the shoulder and placed in a jail, and Drevin takes Alex to a hangar. Once there, Drevin tells Alex everything. He tells him he knows of the CIA's investigation, and knows he cannot destroy it, as the investigation is based in the Pentagon.

He also mentions Ark Angel is millions of dollars over budget, and will likely never be finished, and is sucking his bank account dry. He tells Alex that he is placing a bomb on Ark Angel, which, along with homing devices, will make the space station fall directly on the Pentagon, completely destroying any evidence against Drevin. Then he tells Alex of his biggest, most complex plan; Force Three.

Alex realizes Force Three has been merely invented by Drevin to create an enemy. Drevin was going to stage a kidnapping of Paul, and use his finger to prove it wasn't him. Drevin will blame the destruction of Washington on Force Three, and will prove it by having the four fake terrorists attempt to ambush Flamingo Bay. He will show their bodies as proof of his innocence. When Silver Tooth asks how Drevin will fake it, Drevin replies "Who said I was going to fake it?" Magnus kills the four fake terrorists, shortly before revealing his true identity: Kaspar.

Drevin then says that Alex and Tamara's bodies will appear to have been hit in crossfire. He puts Alex in the prison with Tamara. Tamara helps him escape, and Alex steals a power kite. He then attempts to sail to the nearest island in order to contact the CIA, but is intercepted by Drevin's men. By almost pure luck, he tricks them into running into each other, killing them instantly. Alex finally gets the CIA back to the privet island, where the real battle begins. The agents get past the guards, but find that the “self-destruct button” is not there, and that only Drevin, who is dead by now, could have pushed it. In response, the agents fit Alex into an impossibly small space capsule meant for an orangutan.

He is then sent to intercept the bomb. Once inside Ark Angel, he meets Kasper, who he kills. Because the bomb needs to be put in a precise position in order to land on the Pentagon, Alex just moves it. The job is done. Alex gently floats back to earth, and the book ends.

This book is a very good one, and is highly recommended to anyone who likes action/adventure. Also, the author, Anthony Horowitz, writes other books in this series, along with other great books. Look him up!

Ark Angel

Alex Rider is a spy working for M16. He is the youngest person that works for them but even though he is young he is still very impressive. He has saved millions of people and if it weren't for him the world would be gone. In this story Alex must stop the rich criminal Nikolei Drevin from destroying the pentagon.

The story begins as Alex Rider is leaving M16's headquarters and gets shot by an assassin. This bullet had just barely missed his heart but still hits him. He is injured badly and is sent to a hospital. In the hospital at night he is walking downstairs because he wants to go outside. He sees 4 criminal walk into the hospital and sees them kill the man at the desk and then hears them say they are going to capture a boy that was in the room next to him. He tricks them into following him and making him think he is Paul Drevin the person they came to get. He knocks each of them out but their driver comes and knocks Alex out.

Alex found himself in a room alone. Soon the same people he had knocked out came to the door. He is led to a room with their leader in it. He thinks that this is Paul and says that they are going to cut off his finger to get money from his father. Once he says he is not Paul they leave him in the building and light the building on fire. He escapes and tight rope walks across to the building next to it and then passes out.

He is then invited to come with Paul and his father for a vacation as a reward for pretending to be Paul and by doing that he saved Paul. They were going to leave for New York soon but first there was a soccer match betweens Alex's favorite team and Nikolei's team.

The game was pretty even throughout most of the match. Then Alex's team scored. They were ahead for the rest of the game until in the end Drevin's team gets a penalty shot. Their best player went to take it and was expected to score but missed the net. Alex sees Drevin take out his cell phone and talk as if giving orders. Later that day the player that missed the shot was killed. Alex now had the idea that Drevin may be a criminal.

Once they got to New York Alex finds out that his passport is out expired. He is taking to the FBI and is giving gadgets. He finds out the passport wasn't expired but it was a fake one so that he could be away from Drevin and be given gadgets. He was also told how Drevin is a criminal and they want him to spy on Drevin.

Alex is then returned to the Drevin's and they go to the place that Nikolei is doing his project. He is working on the first hotel in space. After a few days of vacation at the island Nikolei finds out that Alex is spying on him. He tries to kill him but Alex escapes but once again they catch him. He is tied to a chair and Drevin tells Alex his entire plan. He says that the evidence about him being a criminal is in the Pentagon so he is going to blow up his hotel in space called Ark Angel and make it so it lands on the Pentagon destroying all the evidence they have about him.

Alex gets help from the FBI and they kill Drevin. The one problem is that the bomb is still set to explode. Alex goes into space and must stop the bomb from blowing up or at least put it somewhere else in the ship so that it won't land on the Pentagon.

He goes up and finds out that the leader of the group of men that tried to kill him is there. He fights with the leader called Kasper and eventually kills him. He finds the bomb and puts it in the center and then leaves. The bomb explodes but all of the parts land safely into the ocean.
