Children of the Red King (Charlie Bone Books)

This is a fabulous series of books written by Jenny Nimmo which is in the fantasy genre about a young boy named Charlie Bone who is endowed with a special gift along with other descendants of the Red King, who is a magical king with children who inherited powers from him. For example the main character, Charlie can travel into pictures and even take objects out of them. This book is a bestselling children's series that is a great adventure for all ages. Currently the series is on going.

The Pendragon Adventure

This series of books (written by D.J. MacHale) is actually my favorite series because of a lot of reasons. The Pendragon books attract a wide range of readers because of its interesting combination of fantasy and science fiction, but it is in the fantasy category. These books will definitely get you addicted to reading it towards the end and the plot is original and full of action and adventure. I guarantee you will enjoy these books as long as you try it. Currently the series is on going.

The Inheritance Cycle

This was going to be a trilogy but Christopher Paolini added an extra book, but that doesn't matter. Despite all the critics saying it's a fusion of “Star wars” and “Lord of the Rings” with a bit of the less known “Riders of Perm”, but for all you Star wars fans as well as Lord of the Rings fans or even both, you should enjoy this and it'll probably bring back memories from the books or movies.

So enjoy your reading and the order of these three series of books does not have to do with anything about how much I like them, but if your curious to know, these books in order from least to best is Children of the Red King, The Inheritance Cycle, and The Pendragon Adventure.

Top Three Book Series

 The Eragon Series

First book- Eragon

Second book- Eldest

This series is about a poor boy named Eragon that finds a dragon egg while hunting. He soon finds out that he is destined to be a dragon rider and to defeat the evil king.

This series is great and they even made a movie about it. I recommend you read it because in my opinion the book was better. The books are detailed and if you like to take moments away from your life and explore Eragon's world then read this series of books. These books are very long but if you get into it then you won't notice the time. I would have rated this series of books # 2 but the series is not finished yet.

Charlie Bone Series

First book- Midnight for Charlie Bone

Second book- Charlie Bone and the Time Twister

Third book- Charlie Bone and the Invisible Boy

Fourth book- Charlie Bone and The Castle Of Mirrors

Fifth book- Charlie Bone and the hidden king

This series is about people branched off the children of the red king. The red king was a person with supernatural powers who made himself into a tree to join with nature. He had children who earned his powers too,but the powers were divided among the children. Some of the children turned out to be good and some turned pure evil. All the descendent's after the children,of course, got powers as well. Charlie Bone is a kid that finds out that he is a descendant and he is sent to a special school for children with these kinds of powers. Join him in his journey to fight the forces of evil and find out about the red king.

These books are detailed and full of suspense. They are also short so people who don't like large books will not have a problem here. I rated this one at number 2 because its easy to read and very interesting. People who want to take a little time of their hands would enjoy a book that would take them to a world full of suspense and weirdness.

The Harry Potter Series

First book- Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Second book- Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Third book- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Fourth book- Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Fifth book- Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Sixth book- Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince

Seventh book- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

This series of books are about a boy named Harry Potter whose mother and father were killed by the most evil wizard in the world named Voldemort. He was the only one that survived because of something to do with his mother and Voldemort was thought to be killed. Harry has to live with his uncle and aunt who are very cruel to him and go to the wizardry school called Hogwarts. He is very famous in the wizardry world. Harry has to learn how to be stronger than Voldemort because his destiny is to kill Voledmort when he returns. Every year(book) he is faced with a challenge and it gets harder every year(book).

Read the books and see what happens because writing about these books will take a long time. You probably heard about this series a lot of times. You probably attempted to read one of the books. They made movies for this series and will be finished with making all the movies soon. If you have only been seeing the movies and not reading the books you have been missing out. I rated this # 1 because it is the ultimate source of suspense, detail, drama, and more I can't think of at the moment. These books are long ( especially the fourth one) but if you don't read them all then your missing out. You can take as much time as you like to read these. If you like fiction, drama, and anything about magic than read these. The last 2 books almost made me cry I swear. I bet you that you won't say you wasted your time after you are finished.

Charlie Bone and the Hidden King Review

The most perilous adventure yet that Charlie has faced. The shadow of the Red King has escaped! But with the helped of a mysterious force and also the help of his friends, they are closer to finding the truth about Charlie's father. Enter the mysterious world of Charlie Bone. As the story roams Pets Café, Bloor's Academy, Charlie Bone's house, and Charlie's friend's house, you'll find out what really happens with the red king. The places are imaginary but with a hint of reality as the cities unfold from the pages of the book. The story takes place in 2004, about 50 years after Bloor's Academy, a mystical school, was made. At the beginning of the story, Charlie Bone awakes one morning to find the city covered with snow and all the animals gone. Where have they gone - and why? To make matters worse, on the eve of Charlie's 12th birthday he is warned that something ancient has awakened. Charlie must be on his guard. Will Charlie and his friends be able to overcome this obstacle?

The main characters have extraordinary powers. These children, endowed with different talents, such as the ability to fly, to create storms, transform, see through photos, and to create illusions, attend Bloor's Academy for the Gifted, where they are constantly in scuffles with the other endowed children, the ones that use their powers to spread evil. Charlie's mom is being hypnotize by Count Harken Badlock who was thought to be dead centuries ago that was resurrected by the Mirror of Amoret. Charlie and his friends go along way to stop Count Badlock. Olivia's mom, a famous actor distracts the guards that gourd the elevator. When Olivia gets in, there are 4 guards blocking her way from the Mirror of Amoret. She uses her power and makes a life like illusion of a fire in the carpet. She snatches the mirror, and goes to her house, but sees that Joshua Tulpin, Bloor's spy, is blocking their way. He magnetizes the mirror and tries to get it back, but the mirror falls. Lysander knocks down Joshua and runs to Olivia's house. Count Harken Badlock approaches the house and knocks down the door. Lysander and Tancred come out and use there mighty powers to smite thee and wreck up the entire house.

The children need to free Charlie's mom from the Count. The only person they could think of to help was the Red King himself. The problem is that he lived thousands of years ago. But through trust and friendship, Charlie gains the knowledge he needs to waken the spirit of the Red King, imprisoned forever in a tree, and with the help of Asa Pike, an unlikely friend who used to be against Charlie, he and his friends gain the power to banish Badlock back to his own time, and freed the Red King and Charlie's mom.All of Charlie's friends believed in each other, and it was through their incredible faith and trust in each other that they awoke the Red King and drove evil from their little corner of the world.

I feel that this is a magnificent book and I recommend you read it. It has enough action to read for hours upon hours. It's a book the entire family can enjoy it. There are heart stopping moments that will leave you breathless and suspense that will make you read on. That is why I recommend this book. Reading it will send you to a different world. Happy reading!!!
