Alex Rider: Ark Angel

A short newspaper form book report on the book "Ark Angel" by Anthony Horowitz.

Alex Rider is a secret agent that works for M16, a spy agency located in England. The only catch is... he's 14. In his life, he has had many near-death experiences, all of which he was trying to live his life normally, but ended up getting M16 to persuade him to do some deed while he was “in the vicinity”. An example of his adventures is him trying to snowboard down a mountain on an ironing board, with armed snowmobiles chasing him.

In “Ark Angel”, an eco-active terrorist group called “Force Three” has committed many murders, with number escalating. They will kill anyone who they believe is “harming the world” in any way. Also, if anyone writes about them or says something negative about them, the author or spokesperson is immediately murdered. For example, a journalist in Moscow writes an article about them, saying how they are a “violent group of terrorists, who seem to have no real goal”. Within 2 days, that author was shot while walking to her car from work. Alan Blunt and Mrs. Jones are M16 coordinators who work with Alex a lot. They attend a meeting that has a man explain what they know about Force Three, but do not learn much.

Meanwhile, Alex Rider is in a high-class, privet, usually celebrity only hospital. He is there because of an unsuccessful sniping attempt. In the room next to him, there is a boy named Paul Drevin. His father (Nikolei Vladimir Drevin) is a multi-billionaire, made rich by the oil business. Mrs. Jones tells him that he can leave the next day, so Alex is very happy.

The purpose of a newsletter is to provide specialized information to a targeted audience. Newsletters can be a great way to market your product or service, and also create credibility and build your organization's identity among peers, members, employees, or vendors.

First, determine the audience of the newsletter. This could be anyone who might benefit from the information it contains, for example, employees or people interested in purchasing a product or requesting your service.

You can compile a mailing list from business reply cards, customer information sheets, Business cards collected at trade shows, or membership lists. You might consider purchasing a mailing list from a company.

If you explore the Project Gallery, you will find many publications that match the style of your newsletter.

Next, establish how much time and money you can spend on your newsletter. These factors will help determine how frequently you publish the newsletter and its length. It's recommended that you publish your newsletter at least quarterly so that it's considered a consistent source of information. Your customers or employees will look forward to its arrival.

Alex rider is a normal fourteen-year-old kid; he goes to school, does homework, hangs out with his friends, and... He is a secret agent for M16, the secret service for England. He may not want to do all of the assignments that he is assigned, but he ends up doing them anyway. In Ark Angel, he has to stop an insane billionaire from blowing up the white house, so he can own the world.

Some of his adventures in this book were being in a direct line of fire, with the billionaire's guards on one side, and the FBI on the other; flying up in a rocket, getting onto a massive satellite and putting a bomb in the middle of it, all while fighting off a crazed man with a knife. Alex is a very versatile person, who can think quickly and adapt to his surroundings very fast. These traits come in handy when he is fighting the insane bad guys, or when he has to tight-walk across buildings, for example. Some of the coolest things that Alex gets to do are use the “gadgets” that a man called Smithers gives him.

Some examples of these items are “insect repellent” that actually will attract all of the bugs within 5 square miles, an iPod that will listen to conversations through walls, and some “ear studs”, that, when activated, will blow through a thick lock.

Alex has a very high-paced life, and will not back down from a challenge. To me, it would be kind of cool to have his life, but without the constant dangers of being a secret agent.

However, he cannot sleep that night, so he takes a walk around the hospital, eventually ending up in the reception room. He sees four members of Force Three walk in and demand to see Paul Drevin. The receptionist (who was a good friend of Alex's) tells them it is too late to see him, but they insist rather hostilely. The receptionist finally tells them, but is shot all the while. Alex sees all of this. Alex thinks up an elaborate plan to take out the terrorists (who he has named Combat Jacket, Spectacles, Steel Watch, and Silver Tooth), and follows them. He succeeds in knocking all of them out; Silver Tooth with a defibrillator, Spectacles with an oxygen cylinder, Combat Jacket with a medicine ball, and finally tricking Steel Watch into being magnetized toward an MRI machine.
