Back to the Bedroom Summary

A short summary of Janet Evanovich's novel, Back to the Bedroom.

Back to the Bedroom is not only romantic in nature but there is mystery and comedy within its pages. Like all of Janet Evanovich's novels, she can convey a simple chuckle to a hardy belly laugh within the story. Her characters are real and down to earth, allowing a reader to get to know them within the all too short book.

Taking place in Washington, DC, the story begins. From the first few pages the reader can find that the man in this novel is more of your average male, not some unbelievable GQ superman. Her characters are real, not all blown up and fluffy to good to be real. They are down to earth, but with twists within themselves making each of them all the more interesting to get to know. The heroine in this book, Kate, a red head like Evanovich.

She has a fiery temper, but in a lot of instances I can compare some of the situations she finds herself in somewhere along the lines of slapstick comedy, like Lucy, in the I Love Lucy shows.

The book has one general plot but subplots in between. Like most romance novels, there is the build up to a love scene. But unlike some other romance novels I have read it is not too graphic and allows the readers imagination to put in the missing scenario that they want to think.I don't want to summarize the book as that would take away from the reader enjoying the story too much.

Personally I recommend her as a writer and look forward to more of her books. They are on a lighter side of reading making them pleasurable for anyone to read. The Plum series has grown to infinite proportions and her fans look forward to each and every one that she writes. It is a shame that she can not write two novels at the same time so that her fans could have more to read.
