Even though some are never seen in the real world, they are used to show how life is the most important thing to use, but death is the next phase of life. In the poem it says “Of life, there are the waters sure Which shall remain forever pure.” This line uses water to represent life since organisms need water to live and means that once we die we will fuel other life forms on Earth for eternity with nutrients from our bodies. So the imagery in the poem is important since the objects it portrays show how life and death are nothing without the other.
With the old time language she used it shows that those who died before use are fueling our Earth today and it does help some with rhythm. Bradstreet sues words such as “thou, doth, thine and thy” which were used for many centuries dating from the eighteenth century to time Before Christ. Also they are used to show the likeness between us and past humans and how they are still part of us. So even though they are dead, they are still fueling life.
