Code Talker

Kii Yazhi is a Navajo kid who is sent off to a boarding school to learn English. Code Talker tells the story of his life and his adventure through World War Two.

This book is told from Kii's point of view and starts off when he is six years old. Even though Kii is the main character there are several other minor characters that make the story.

Kii is a very kind person and make a lot of friends during his journey through the war. He becomes friends with Charlie Begay who is his best friend. Kii also talks about the leader of his unit, Admiral Conolly. Kii's job in the marines is to transport and write messages in code and then take them to the person and translate it. The reason it was transported in code was so if it was interrupted by the enemy they would not know then what it said.

This book is a really good book and one of the things that make it that way is the writing style. This book is written from a main character's point of view. It also has a okay pace, but the author did make it a little slow in my opinion. Either way it is a very good book and keeps you engaged.

I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who wants to just relax but have an adventure that does not affect them. I liked this book and I bet you will too.
