Silverwing

A fantasy novel that a friend recommended it to me.

Shade is a silverwing bat that broke the rule that no bat can see the sun. The owls who enforce the rule came looking for him. The bats refused to give him up, so the owls burned down the roost. After this they leave for their migration early but a storm came and blew Shade out to sea. He finds an island and meets a new brightwing bat friend.

The next night they set off to catch up with Shade's colony. When they get to the city they meet giant cannibal bats and the meat eating bats start a war by eating animals. It became a race between Shade and Goth (the meat eating bat ) to Hibernaculum (Shade's colony's winter roost).

I think the book was very good. It used good choice of words. It leaves you waiting for the next book. It has won many awards. I like this book because it has bats in it and I like bats. If you don't like bats I wouldn't recommend this book to you. If you do like bats I would recommend this book to you. I would say that this book is excellent. It is adventurous and it is funny at parts. My friend said it was excellent and now I would say it is excellent, I know when you are done with it you will too.
