Harry Potter in English Books

Recently I read an article in a newspaper that in London, schools are asked to include Harry Potter stories in literature classes. They say that it is one of the finest works of this era, and needs to be suitably honored and studied.

But, I don't think that this is a right move. Since, this will deteriorate the quality of English language. I have read the whole series and I find the series to be quite good. But then it is not as great that it can be compared with the works of great people like Shakespeare, etc. They were the writers who almost influenced the English of their era.

But, I didn't find anyone's English getting changed after reading books of Harry Potter. I couldn't find the influence of this book on the English language of people.

So, I don't think that it is the right time to bring this series into the curriculum of students. Some more time should be given to this series to see if it can bring some change to the English language because if it really of the level of Shakespeare literature then it will surely bring a change in the English literature.

As for now I don't think it can be considered great just because it has invented some new terms and is the best seller.
