Double or Die

Book review for the book Double or Die, written by Charlie Higson.

Double or Die is part of the Young Bond series which is a younger version of James Bond, it is the third book of the series and this time there is a kidnap of one of his teachers at his school Eton, who called Alexis Fairburn who is also head of a crossword society which James's friend and mess mate Priptal goes to.

Throughout the book Alexis Fairburn had been sending messages to his friends at Eton and his other friends. One of these secret messages was formed in a letter which sounded all wrong when reading it but which actually held secret messages of where he was, James and his friends job was to solve these secret messages.

Part way through the book we start to meet quite a few characters including some of Fairburn's friends from Cambridge University who included Peterson and Sir Charnage but when James finds Peterson at Cambridge University he is dead but finds a coded message from Fairburn. The killers of Peterson we find out were hired by Sir Charnage.

After all the clues had been solved James knew where to go he had to go to the docks in London where a ship was being loaded, James went on this ship and found Fairburn next to a giant computer which he had built, James then took him out of there and destroyed the ship while it was going out to sea.

I really liked this book because it had action, explosions and plots which I like which means I give this book.
