A Tale Of Two Cities is a great book set in the period during the French Revolution. It has everything a great book needs.
Espionage, drama, mystery and a fast pace.
It is the story of two cities, London and Paris. It is also the story of two identical looking, but drastically different men in love with the daughter of a brilliant physician.
The story spans a period of thirty six years
and follows the lives of Dr. Alexandre Manette, his daughter Lucie, Madame and Citizen Defarge, and the previously mentioned two men, Charles Darnay and Sidney Carton.
Madame Defarge is a French peasant woman with a sharp tongue that she refuses or is unable to keep on a leash. She is fed up with the Aristocracy that she sees as tyrannical. She is hell-bent on seeing every one of the Aristocrats put to death. This includes the young and energetic Charles Darnay.
While I have given some idea of the book, I refuse to give it all away. If you want to know what happens, go get the book. You won't regret it, that's a promise.
