In the play A Christmas Carol, Scrooge changed from greedy to charitable. Another way he changed is from selfish to generous. Later on you will find out how.
Scrooge changed from greedy to charitable by not paying the bills. Later in the story he pays all the bills and not a penny less. He was also being greedy by tell Cratchit to be at work all the earlier the next morning. In simpler terms Scrooge tells Cratchit to get at work all the earlier the next morning so he could make up all the work he missed. In the end Scrooge gave Bob Cratchit's family a giant turkey for Christmas dinner. Which in this case Scrooge gave them a giant turkey, so that Tiny Tim's future would change.
Scrooge had made his decision by not paying the bills or by tipping his employees when he was at work and when he came home from work. When Scrooge gave the day off to Cratchit in their conversation Scrooge says “still you expect me to pays a day's wage for a day of no work.” But Scrooge still ends up giving the rest of the day off, Christmas off and still paying Cratchit 5 shillings for a day of no work. In the end Scrooge gave the boy and the butcher money for getting the turkey there fast and paying for the turkey. In other words Scrooge actually paid money's worth to the boy and the butcher.
One thing I learned from reading this story is that if you're mean your whole life like Scrooge, then bad things will happen in the future. Just like how Scrooge changes after the visit from the Third Spirit or the Spirit of Christmas Yet to Come. The biggest change was when Scrooge sees the empty stool. He changed quite a bit when he saw the cook, the charwoman, and the sparsit stealing his valuables.
Scrooge shouldn't have been greedy, selfish all his life up until the last spirit came. He should've been more generous and charitable. The thing that shocked Scrooge the most was Tiny Tim's grave with Cratchit there. He probably seemed a bit more sharing after seeing his valuables being stolen. He shouldn't have thought about money when he was going to get married to Bell, he should've been thinking about the future. Everyone that is mean or only thinks about money should change like Scrooge did if you want a better future.
