Reading is a very important part of our lives. We need to take time everyday and read at least 20 to 30 minutes a day. It really helps when you read out aloud. You can hear yourself and see how you pronounce your words. Your reading will improve if you keep reading out aloud. You should take whatever steps needed to help you learn the Art of Reading.
Reading can be improved in many ways. Being able to read fluently helps with comprehension, and vocabulary and even memory. Yet there are still many that deal with literacy. They can neither read nor write. They have no litercy skills to give them the confidence they need to keep on reading.
Then there are the struggling readers. The person who can read but seem not be able to comprehend what they are reading. They have a hard time remembering the passage they just read. Good reading skills will help them become a better reader and thinker. If he or she doesn't learn to read the chances are they will not to be a good reader. There are different kinds of information to be gain when reading.
There are many books for the young reader, and books for teen ages as well as for adults. You can go to the Library and read fiction, nonfiction books, magazines, and many many more. You can,of course ,read the newspaper. A good reader will get better when reading all different kinds of materials. When you read a newspaper, you will learn what is happening in your hometown and around the world. Maps and even the Atlas will let you view things from around the world.
So remember reading can be fun. It doesn't have to be limited to just one thing, since there is such a broad spectrum of reading materials on the market. If you are not reading or don't even like to read its time for you to do something for yourself. Just pick up a book and start reading. You can take baby steps by reading just a little each day. Before long you will enjoy reading everyday. This is when you know in your heart that you have discoved the Art of Reading.
