The Curtis Brothers

About the brothers from the book "The Outsiders' and whether or not they should be split up or not? read more.

The brave and heroic actions of Ponyboy Curtis this week have drawn attention to the plight of his family. The family must now face the juvenile court and plead their case as to why they should stay together.

We have interviewed the Curtis family that consists of Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darrel have many horrific and interesting facts on them. It is said that their parents died in a car crash 8 months ago which is very sad. They are lovely children that didn't deserve it.
After the terrible accident Darrel, the oldest in the family, took up the father figure position. I believe he is very young to be the father in the house. Anyway, he was a star athlete in school but couldn't go to college because of the lack of money. Now, he's taken up two jobs to provide for the family and keep Ponyboy in school.

The middle child in the family is Sodapop who is a charming fellow that has dropped out of school. He works at a gas station with a friend of his to also provide a bit of money for the family.

Last but not least is the youngest, Ponyboy. He's crazy about books and movies. Even though he's smart he doesn't use his brain. He has a strong and good heart too.
This family has many reasons why they should stay together. In my opinion they don't look like criminals just happy, outgoing people that have faced many difficulties and troubles. They also care for each other and love each other and the only family they have left is each other so they shouldn't be separated.

They also try their best to stay alive, healthy and keep Ponyboy in school so he has a better life. Without each other their lives won't function.
Even though they care and love each other there's still a chance they can be separated, sent to new foster homes without the company of each other. The future is in the hands of the judge when they face the juvenile court.
