Review: Point Blanc

I reviewed Point Blanc by Anthony Horowitz.

Point Blanc is the thrilling sequel to 'Storm Breaker', a best selling novel by Anthony Horowitz. The main character, Alex Rider is a normal teenager with a less than normal secret: he is a 14 year old super spy! Add a South African madman with a private army, 8 extremely rich children, down hill snowboarding whilst under heavy machine gun fire and you've got superb novel so full of action and drama you'll be up all night!

The story is set in Chelsea, London, where the main character, Alex Rider is trying to re adjust to his normal school boy lifestyle. Unfortunately MI6, British special operations has other plans. Alex Rider will never be the same.

Alex is sent to a school high in the French Alps, to investigate a strange “coincidence”. 2 of the most powerful people in the world dieing in the same time frame. But the biggest “coincidence” of all is very strange indeed; both students attend the Point Blanc academy.

Upon arriving Alex immediately senses something is wrong. But what he uncovers is so disturbing and powerful that, if successful, could easily destroy the world as we know it. Alex needs to do something about it, and fast. But it's not as easy as he predicted. It looks like Alex Rider may have met his match.

The Alex Rider series is no doubt the best bunch of books I've ever read, and anyone who enjoys action, drama and comedy and can take a bit of violence should read this “totally wicked” book! Just be sure to read the first book, "Stormbreaker" before reading Point Blanc.
