Do you feel like you don't have enough time to read as many books as you would like? Here are five simple ways to fit in more reading.
Carry A Book Everywhere You Go
This will help you take advantage of the “in between” times when there's nothing else for you to do. Instead of getting frustrated during times you have to wait, you can be reading. This is perfect for time spent in waiting rooms and standing in line. Read On Your Breaks
Some people have a book at their desk just for this purpose - they only read this particular book during their breaks. Others read the book they've been carrying around with them. Either way, depending on your breaks and whether you read during all of them or not, this could give you up to an hour and a half of extra reading time each day. Cut Back on Watching Tv
. If you can eliminate one show a day, that's an extra half hour or hour that you can spend reading. Can't completely give up any of your shows? Read during commercials. If you have DVR, this works even better: every time a commercial comes on, pause the show and read for five minutes, then fast forward past the commercial break. Leave A Book In The Bathroom
...and decide to read a chapter or even just a certain number of pages every time you're in there. It's best to leave your book on the counter, rather than on the back of the toilet - nobody wants to fish a wet book out of the toilet bowl! Make Reading a Priority
If you are serious about wanting to read more, make it a priority. Plan to read and set aside time to do so. Nobody really has “extra” time. If we think something is really important, we tend to somehow make the time for it. Make reading a priority in your life today.
